About Ayurveda.

Ayurveda is the  traditional medicine from India .It goes back many thousands years.  Nutrition and lifestyle are considered crucial in a person’s health. Techniques used in this medical system are: massage, oil therapy, herbal medicines, breathing exercises etc.  Ayurveda has  a holistic approach to health. It is becoming popular more and more around the world.

Ayurvedic medicine has gone through many stages of development. It spread as far east as Indonesia and to the west it influenced  ancient Greek medicine. The Buddhists  also knew it, and added many new insights to it and spread it to many  countries, especially in Asia. In this way Ayurveda  influenced the healing traditions of Tibet, Sri Lanka, Burma and other nations.

The ancient Indian health system is  based on  “Doshas”, which are the three basic life-forces of the human body. These Ayurveda doshas or biological humors are: “Vata”, “Pitta” and “Kapha”. They determine the different processes of the body. When these humors are in balance you’re healthy. When out of balance you become ill. Click here for more information.
