Flag of India
The flag of India is a symbol for the world.
The flag of India is called Tiranga ( Tricolor ). Saffron (Kesari) is at the top, white is in the middle and the bottom is dark green. In the centre of the white band in the middle of the flag of India is a wheel or “chakra”. This wheel has a profound symbolic value for the nation. The chakra on the flag of India is in navy blue and symbolises the cycle of birth, death and rebirth. It is the eternal wheel of life that is always turning and that has no beginning or end. And this is what reincarnation is all about. The human being, through the experience of many lives, evolves into a higher spiritual level. Reincarnation has been scientifically proven by a number of scientists. The most important of them is Professor Ian Stevenson of Virginia University. His research, mostly based on memories of young children, has proven, beyond a doubt, the existence of reincarnation. This wheel of reincarnation on the flag of India makes it not only an important symbol to one nation, but to the entire world.
