The interesting geography of India.
Geography of India in the north is determined by the enormous Himalaya Mountains, the highest of the world. The highest peak in the country is the Kanchenjunga, in Sikkim. Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and Sikkim are states partly or entirely situated in the Himalaya region. Another important region in the geography of India is the Northern Plain. Two important rivers of the Northen Plain are the Ganges and the Brahmaputra. A large part of the geography of central India is determined by the Deccan Plateau, which is situated south of the Northern Plain. The Deccan Plateau is bordered in the west by the Western Ghats and in the east by the Eastern Ghats. In the west you also have the Great Thar Desert , situated in the beautiful state of Rajasthan. As the country has a total area of 3,287,263 sq km, the geography of India is varied and unique. Climatic conditions also vary considerably from region to region. The best time to visit the country is from October to March.
