India  People

In India people belong to different races.

India is a land of incredible contrasts and when you are travelling in this fascinating country from north to south and from east to west, you’ll see that nothing is the same. Everywhere you go in India, people are different, languages are different, customs are different, religions are different, landscape is different. Although there are a lot of pestering touts in the cities, remember that the India people are renowned for their hospitality to visitors.

There are more than one billion India people and their number is growing. More women die before the age of 35 than men, mortality rates are high and the proportion of females to males is still declining. The only state where women outnumber men is Kerala.

It is estimated that 75% of the India people lives in the countryside where the living standards are low. Poverty is widespread, and half of India’s children is undernourished. The government tries to improve the living standards of the poor since Independence, but it is not easy in such a vast country that’s as big as an entire continent.
